Perplexity visibility
Perplexity shows its sources. Make sure you’re one of them.
Perplexity answers with numbered citations next to almost every claim. That makes it unusually measurable: you can see exactly which pages it relied on. search.co tracks those sources for the questions in your market and shows you how to join them.

Why Perplexity is measurable
An answer engine that shows its work.
Perplexity was built around search. For most questions it looks things up on the web, writes a short answer and attaches numbered sources. Readers often click those sources to check a claim, which makes being cited valuable in its own right.
It also means you can see why an answer came out the way it did. If three cited pages all list the same competitor, that competitor will probably be named. If your page is cited but your brand isn’t, the page is useful but doesn’t make a clear case for you.
Source report
Every source, for every prompt, on every run.
We store the full list of cited URLs for each answer, with the position of each citation and whether your brand is named in the text. Over many runs that becomes a ranking of the sources Perplexity trusts for your topic.

Mentions vs. citations
Being cited and being recommended are not the same.
Perplexity can cite your guide and still recommend someone else. We track both, so you can see your share of brand mentions next to your share of citations and find the pages that are useful to the engine but don’t make your case.

Ask Brigham
Turn the source list into a plan.
Perplexity cites five sources for this prompt. Your dental ads guide is cited in half the runs, but it never says ROI.me works with dental practices, so you’re cited without being recommended. The two most cited sources are a competitor blog and a review roundup that doesn’t list you.

Does Perplexity always search the web?
For most questions it retrieves live sources and cites them, which is why citation tracking is so useful here. We store the sources for every run, so you can see what was used each time.
How is this different from ChatGPT tracking?
The metrics are the same, but Perplexity puts citations front and center, so this page focuses on sources. All assistants share one dashboard in search.co.
Can I see the exact passage that was used?
You can read the full stored answer next to its numbered sources and open each cited page to compare.
Is my page cited because it ranks on Google?
Not necessarily. Cited pages often overlap with strong search results, but not always. Tracking both in search.co shows where they match and where they don’t.
